In Tashkent’s Yakkasaray district, a pedestrian died as a result of a traffic accident. As the press service of the capital’s Traffic Safety Department of the Main Department of Internal Affairs reported, the incident occurred on April 25 at around 17:40 on the Tashkent Ring Road. A 37-year-old driver of a Cobalt car hit a 77-year-old man who was crossing the road at an undesignated location. The pedestrian died at the scene from his injuries.

A criminal case has been opened over the incident under Part 2 of Article 266 (“violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation regulations”) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
